Lahore has its second hand book bazaars. Every Sunday,
vendors would display the old books on The Mall near Anarkali and Neela Gumbund
area. I would woke up early in the morning, would do a workout kind of nashhhhta
(it would be blasphemous to use word breakfast in Lahore) and then stroll on
The Mall for hours looking for books. I spotted a book, The Art of Advocacy by
Tripathi, and bought it for Rs 200. The book turned out to be a gem.
Despite being published in 1960 and eating a lot of dust on
foot paths and exchanging so many hands, it is still in pristine condition. The
binding is tight and pages have not become victim to dog earring. I have read
it half and found it really good.
The picture on the right shows stamp of the first owner.
