I won Rs 500,000 from PTCL!

I had just returned home in the afternoon from the courts. The phone (landline) was ringing. I picked it up. Someone on the other side introduced himself as Safdar Ali. The guy was speaking Urdu with an accent of a villager. He said he was speaking from the PTCL head office, then clarified that PTCL ka main daftar say baat ker raha hoon.
I said, “Okay.”
The guy, “Saar, app ka Inam nikla hai.” (Sir, you have won a prize).
I knew that it was some fraudster who would ask me to send him numbers of mobile phone scratch cards in order to get the prize.
I tried to sound excited, but did not do well. I said, “Which prize scheme it is.”
The guy said in an agrarian Urdu, “Saar, qura undazi Sharja mai howi hai. App ka number lucky nikla hai aur app nay panch (5) lakh rupay (hundred thousand) jeetay hain. App ko mubarik ho.”
I tried to sound more excited but miserably failed.
I said, “Acha, khair mubarik. Tou?”
And the guy dropped the call. That’s how I missed Rs 500,000 worth of prize money.
I have friends working in various mobile phone companies. They have told me that often people pay Rs 25,000 to these fraudsters who pose as mobile phone employees.
